Nonsense, proceed EFFECTIVely and get a FU EFEKTIV milling centre from TOS KUŘIM – OS, a.s. Customers’ requirements go still more hand in hand with ever growing demands for higher effectivity, product precision and cutting of cost of machine-tools. As a consequence, a pressure is being developed on the machine-tool design, together with an effective optimization of respective components in order to meet every customer’s satisfaction. Thanks to the development of CNC-control machine-tools, the use of new technological processes appears to be an optimum solution. Non-rotary parts can make use of five-axes and multi-axes machining at one gripping of a workpiece only by means of controlling the movement of a tool gripped in the machine spindle providing for all tool feeds (X, Y, Z). This guarantees tooling of sophisticated shapes of workpieces at one grip, with no need to re-grip the workpiece and simultaneously maintaining the requirement for attaining prescribed geometric values and surface roughness. The significance of TOS KUŘIM – OS, a.s. is perceived in the range of its production program; we offer various alternatives of milling machines and milling centres that attain high dynamics and enable to tool workpieces comprehensively starting from roughing operations to finishing ones. The main difference between non-productive horizontal machining and our concept is machining by means of milling heads that may be designated as the heart of each machine from the TOS KUŘIM – OS, a.s production. Therefore, our FU EFEKTIV product range enables the selection of a machine to be delivered in the quill version, with universal (articulated) “O“ head (around the rotary cross axis by 2.5°/ V and H spindle position), and/or with a fork “K“ head (continually controlled in two axes), which enables multiple technological utilization. Other advantages go hand in hand with the milling head, as compared with conventional WHN horizontal milling machines, mostly by delivering the machine with movable headstock, which enables tooling of workpieces of complicated sizes as close to a workpiece centre as possible. Conventional horizontal milling machines have this movement restricted, due to the column movement with a fixed headstock to the maximum quill extension (max. 800mm), which is a liming factor for machining of workpieces of complicated sizes. Based on expert estimates, losses caused by the time needed for workpiece re-gripping attain up to 80% of the time required for tooling a given workpiece. All basic components of FU EFEKTIV machines are made of robustly ribbed castings, which enables to attain outstanding cutting parameters in horizontal direction (in conventional milling machines these values are lowered to only 10% of a potential capacity). Thanks to the modular system used in FU EFEKTIV, the milling machine can be “made-to-measure" directly in accordance to customers’ requests. As a result of this concept, it is possible to satisfy both the standard users of milling machines and the most demanding customers as well. By means of the column travel, the divided working area of the machine can be operated (rotary and shuttle tables, clamping plates), which eliminates losses of time needed for clamping and subsequent alignment. We can offer column travelling (X) from 3,000 up to 20,000 mm, with optional chip disposal and water management and a wide selection of technological accessories with minimum operational and maintenance requirements. We mustn’t also neglect the relation of FU EFEKTIV to the environment. Meeting of prescribed machining parameters is connected with low energy demands, which means quite sizable financial savings at low power consumption. The question is whether a technologist of a given company will be willing to get himself rid of obsolete horizontal machining and learn to adopt a new way of thinking using multiple-axes machining which leads to cost saving not only for energy consumption, but can lead to a higher productivity, too. Indeed, thanks to these modern technological means and procedures, “a new way of machining thinking" can be managed without any major problems even with the lack of experience and even by older workers and thereby increase quality, speed of machining and broaden out company’s possibilities and attain the so called competitor’s advantages as a result. Without exaggeration, the FU EFEKTIV machine can be designated as a “breakthrough machine” as regards requirements for attainment of machining quality, specific performance and price.
