Machine tool reseach, simulation, measurement, diagnostics and development.

RCMT – Research Centre of Manufacturing Technology has been established in 2000 as an Institute of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague. Next to headquarter located at CTU, RCMT includes also departments at TU in Brno, TU in Liberec and University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. RCMT is highly professional and well equipped both research and educational institution, providing its service for the Czech machine tool industry. Cooperation with the industry stands in the foreground of RCMT activities.

RCMT cooperates with the Association of Manufacturers and Suppliers of Engineering Technique, Czech Society of Machine Tools and represents the Czech Republic in the CECIMO organization.

RCMT main research program is focused on Research of highly productive, accurate, reliable and ecological Machine Tools, Research of machine tool properties, measurement & monitoring and Research of perspective, productive and ecological manufacturing processes.

RCMT team comprises more than 70 professionals specialized in the field of design, development, engineering analyses and research of machine tools. RCMT is concerned with the development and application of modern methods in especially in the fields of advanced simulation models, virtual testing, topology and parametric optimization, verification of simulation models, virtual testing, development of feed drive advanced control techniques and methods for vibration suppression, application of unconventional materials and structures, advanced monitoring and diagnostics of machine tool, thermal error compensation techniques, technology of multi-axis machining and minimization of the machine tool impact on environment. In the frame of intensive cooperation with the industry all the knowledge gained in the research is applied.
